Seeing A Change In Yourself

This weeks devotional is all about seeing a change in yourself. I think one of the greatest miracles we can witness is the amazing internal work God can do on our hearts. God can soften even the hardest of hearts. He can renew our minds and change our habits. God truly has the power to clean us up and make us brand new. This week lets take advantage of the opportunity we have to truly embrace being the new creatures God has empowered us to be.

We know that prayer can change situations, but prayer can also change us. It is wise to pray for intangible things like a renewed mind, pure heart, and an excellent attitude. Think of three things that you want to to improve on this week. Write them down and be very specific. It’s good to keep track of what you’ve been praying to God about. Intentionally target those areas in prayer each day this week and watch as you begin to change for the better. Soon God will send confirmations through others who will compliment you for the new and improved version of yourself. Actually you will begin give yourself a pat on the back because you’re digging the new you too.  Also check out How To Have Character That Is Off The Chain!

Building A Powerful Prayer Life: You’ve Been Practicing!

Ephesians 6:18 (NLT)- Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Over the weekend I had a short bible study with my brother at home. It was a brief lesson about walking in love and then I said, “Let’s Pray.” So my brother and I held hands and I said a prayer for us. After the prayer my brother said, ‘Wow, you’ve been practicing.” I thought that was the funniest thing ever. He promptly corrected himself because he didn’t mean it literally. What he meant to say is that I had become very comfortable praying out loud and praying for others.

Sometimes we can pray in our heads, but there is something so powerful about opening our mouths and praying to God audibly. You may feel awkward at times because it seems like you’re talking to yourself, but trust that God is listening to your every word. Pray to God in private and don’t be intimidated to pray for others in public. Volunteer to lead a prayer at church, work, school, etc. You don’t have to use big words or have a long drawn out prayer. We all have our own way of talking to God. Do you and stay true. Let us continue to go deeper in God!

Let’s especially pray for all believers everywhere because we all go through tests, trails, and attacks from the enemy. United we stand!

Thank You Party

God Gives Me Strength

Thank You Party

Verse: Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34)

If there is anyone worthy of a thank you party it is God. Everyday we are going to have certain needs that come up. It is great to ask God for things and petition Him regarding your needs, however it is also great to take the time just to say thank you. Sometimes we spend more time petitioning than we do thanking Him once He does answer our prayers.

We should thank God before the blessing and after it has manifested. We should thank God simply because He is good. He is worthy of all our praise. So throw a thank you party for the Lord. It can be a day party or a night party just as long as you take the time to tell our Lord thank you. When doing this you can intend for it to be a short praise break, but once you start flowing in the Spirit and remember all the things He has done for you it can easily become a party that lasts all night long. Say thank you Jesus! Say thank you God! We were created to give praise.

God Gives Me Strength

Today starts a new month and a new day.  July 2018 is ready to shine and bring fresh ideas and unimaginable opportunities our way! I love the excitement that comes with embracing a new month, at the same time I also like to reflect briefly on the month that just passed. Yesterday when I returned home from a trip I lay down in bed and looked at my vision board on the wall. Two things stood out to me. First the phrase “Good things come to those who work” and secondly the phrase “God gives me strength.”

We are a generation who pursues purpose and are goal getters. It’s ok to stay up late and wake up early, but if God is not scheduled in your day then you can only go so far before you burn out. Always remember where your strength comes from. Set aside time for God in the morning and at night. Doing this will certainly give you more energy, fresh ideas, focus, and strength. God wants to hear your voice early in the morning and He wants to hear the issues of your heart at night. Let God fill you up and give you strength today and throughout this month.

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” – Philippians 4:13

“My voice you shall hear in the morning O Lord” – Psalm 5:3

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night” – Psalm 1:2
