Trust The Process: No Experience Is Wasted

Have you ever asked yourself the question why am I here? Not like the why am I alive questions. I’m talking about the why am I at this job kind of questions that we ask ourselves from time to time. Because for many of us staying in one place too long can make us restless. This is especially true when God has put a vision or dream in your heart and you thought by now you would have seen it come true. Well today I want to encourage you to trust the process because with God no experience is wasted.

The Job and The Dream

I was reminded of this truth while watching “Hitsville: The Making of Motown” documentary. As a music lover I am fascinated by all things Motown. And as Berry Gordy shared the story of how it all began it brought me encouragement and confirmation. God always has a greater plan at work than what we can see.

When we see a regular job, God sees a lesson that we can learn. Berry Gordy said it was while he was on the assembly line working at Ford Motor Company that he started perfecting his skill of writing songs. And not only that, but it was while working his 9 to 5 that he got the assembly line process that he based his Motown company on.

This is the same Motown that changed the sound of music in America forever and brought us incredible artists like The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and many more. But it all started with a man who had to go through the process of putting in work at a “regular job”.

So don’t despise the days of small beginnings. Don’t despise the process and path God has you on. The truth is the more you complain, the longer you will stay in the place you so disparately want to out grow.

I can relate to the desire to move forward and do something more fulfilling. I’m here with you. And whenever I find myself becoming discontent I have to reevaluate my perspective. As I do that it always leads me back to where is my hope and who/what am I delighting in? So check out my recent post https://www.camilleawalker.com/2019/09/what-does-it-mean-to-delight-in-the-lord/ because delighting in the Lord will help you make it through the process.
