We’ve all heard of the phrase “who builds without counting the cost”. It’s a popular scripture in the Bible found in Luke 14:28. That scripture is actually referring to the costs of following Jesus Christ. However, lately when it comes to planting seeds and laboring in my daily life I thought of the question who plants without counting the time? Who plants without considering whether he has enough patience to see it come through?
Yes planting anything takes patience, which is why I want to encourage you not to give up on your labor that may seem in vain today. Give your seeds time to grow. Give it months and give it years.
I’ve had to do that with this blog and my YouTube channel. Especially with Youtube sometimes I would get really discouraged because of low views and hardly any feedback. Then one day I watched a YouTube beginner advice video and the guy said give it eight months. At first I thought eight months is a long time to not see much fruit from what I’m doing today, but I kept at it any. Now months and years later I do see fruit! It makes me glad that I didn’t give up even when the only one encouraging me to keep going was God Himself.
So as you are laboring and planting good seeds consider the time. Be patient like the planter who knows that for everything there is a season. For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9 NKJV).
